Atlanta’s Trinity Presbyterian Church wanted to reimagine their youth lounge and assembly areas to better serve their growing community. Their goal was to promote youth involvement not just on Sundays, but during the week as well. We set out to renovate an existing space that would revitalize their ministry while seamlessly integrating with the aesthetics of the building’s existing areas.
Our team designed a unique, flexible and fun space that consists of a full-service café, movie room, game room, gathering areas and a large assembly room equipped for contemporary worship. To take advantage of the multi-functional room, we chose furniture that can be rearranged in many configurations. The environment welcomes the youth members to find fellowship with friends, conduct small group meetings, or tackle homework.
The design focused on natural tones and textures with pops of color, and we added chalk and cork-covered walls to encourage collaboration. With these elements, we created a space that is timeless yet energetic and youthful. There is a natural transition from the existing buildings to the renovation thanks to the finishes chosen by our interior designers.
Young congregants have used their new space to forge connections with the church and their peers. The renovation exceeds all the church’s expectations, offering them flexibility for their various activities and functions, as well as room to keep growing into the future.
