CDH Partners Receives Outstanding Project Award and National Recognition for Humphries Elementary School

CDH Partners has received an Outstanding Project Award in Learning by Design Magazine’s Spring 2022 Education Facilities Design Awards Showcase. Located in Atlanta, GA, Humphries Elementary School underwent major renovations to the function and appearance of the campus – creating a cohesive, vibrant, STEM environment that offers safety and comfort to its students and staff.

The project was peer-reviewed by a jury of endorsed AIA-CAE, A4LE and LBD education design professionals on the criteria of: Innovation, Community Needs, Interior Design, Sustainability, Functional Design, and Next Generation Learning.

The jury members noted that the project was a “genuinely nice transformation of the exterior” and “playful design supporting the concept of rearrange the classrooms with special shapes tables inviting for ‘combine and take part.”

Serving grades PreK-5, the CDH team highlighted the STEM model of teaching and learning that Humphries Elementary school uses to educate the students. The design included 54 instructional units, renovating the cafeteria and gym spaces, and even adding specialty labs and game rooms. For more information on this project, check out our case study.

Humphries Elementary School will be featured in the print and digital version of the April 2022 edition Learning by Design Magazine. To access the magazine’s digital edition, click here.
